Since 2019, Lorena Manzano Sánchez has been a member of the European Union Reference Laboratory for Fruits and Vegetables (EURL-FV), where she has developed methodologies for the analysis of pesticide residues in plant-based matrices. Her expertise focuses on liquid and gas chromatography coupled to both high- and low-resolution mass spectrometry. She is also experienced in automation processes, including automated microSPE for extract clean-up. In addition, she has in-depth knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 for pesticide residue analysis by LC and GC, as well as experience in the design of proficiency tests under ISO/IEC 17043. Her work includes the creation of homemade targeted databases for QTOF-MS to detect pesticide and pharmaceutical residues at trace levels in baby food, reclaimed water, agricultural soils, and fruits.
