About

Laura is a PhD student in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Almería (UAL). Since 2021, she has actively been involved in research focused on the detection of microplastics and other emerging contaminants in agricultural and environmental systems. She has extensive experience in the development and validation of analytical methodologies for the identification and quantification of microplastics in water, soil, air, and animal tissue samples. Her work includes the design and validation of passive and active sampling devices for the monitoring of airborne microplastics. She has also expertise in the analysis of organic contaminants using liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), particularly in environmental and agricultural matrices. To date, she has contributed to several national and European research projects related to reclaimed water use, agricultural production, and environmental surveillance.
