Dr. Aguilera has a degree in Chemistry from Granada University and is a professor in the University of Almería in the Chemical-Physic Department. She has been a member of the Pesticide Residue Research Group AGR-159 since its creation in 1995. She has authored numerous research papers in well-known scientific journals, such as J. Agric Food Chem, Food Control or Chemosphere and has participated in international and national research projects related to pesticide residues in food and microplastic pollution in the environment. She is also a member of the Organizing Committee for the European Pesticide Residue workshops EPRW98 and EPRW 2020 held in Almería and Granada, respectively. Currently, she focuses on emerging pollutants in wastewater and soil.
